Here are my top 10 books that will help you grow in your personal life and motivate you to use your time and abilities more effectively. From habits to leadership, we all should be seeking to learn and to grow. These books will help you do that.

Atomic Habits – James Clear

This book has had a considerable influence on my life. It shows you that your habits make up who you are. If you want to change your results, change your habits. The little things we do in life add up to make us who we are. – “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”

Ego is the Enemy – Ryan Holiday

This book will help you see that many of the decisions you make and the actions you take are based on your ego or to build your ego. Many times our ego will cause us to live and do things for the wrong reasons and motives. – “Impressing people is utterly different from being truly impressive.”

Move Your Bus – Ron Clark

It is a very practical book about how to lead others and what kind of people you should have around you. – “People who walk slow ain’t got nowhere to go.”

Talent is Overrated – Geoff Colvin

This book is a little bit different from the rest, but it will help you to see that a majority of success in life comes from hard work and being teachable. – “The best performers set goals that are not about the outcome but about the process of reaching the outcome.”

The Last Arrow – Raphael Erwin McManus

This is a great book to motivate you to give everything you got in life and a reminder not to settle for an average life.- “Average is always a safe choice, and it is the most dangerous choice you can make.”

Eat that Frog – Brian Tracy

This is a short but efficient book. This book will help you accomplish more each day and give you a plan of how you should spend your time and what tasks you should prioritize. – “One of the very worst uses of time is to do something very well that need not be done at all.”

How to Win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie

This is a classic book that explains its purpose in the name. It is the handbook to making friends and gaining influence on the lives of others. – “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge – Clay Scroggins

This is an excellent book for anyone who is not the leader of their own company or organization, which is most of the world. It shows you how to lead even when you don’t have the title of boss. “Influence always outpaces authority.”

Crash the Chatterbox – Steven Furtick

The battle of your mind is not only one of the biggest fights in the life of every person but also the least visible. This book will help you win the battle in your mind. – “The voice you believe will determine the future you experience.”
