Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17-18
The prophet has just gone through a list of bad things that are going to happen. He says that there will be drough, famine, and other problems. After saying this however, he says that he is going to rejoice. He will be happy in the God that saved him. This is so true in my life. I need to set my default on rejoice. If I am sick, I need to rejoice. If I have just done a terrible job preaching, I need to rejoice. If someone has just said bad things about me, I should rejoice. If something bad has happened in my life, I need to rejoice. I can rejoice because I know that God has saved me. I can rejoice because I know how good God is! I can rejoice because I know that no matter how many times I have messed up, God is still good. God still loves me and has paid for my sins on the cross.
