And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will. Daniel 5:21

Nebuchadnezzar was a mighty king. He was a ruler of one of the biggest kingdoms that was ever on earth, but he had a pride problem. He thought it was by his wisdom and actions he had built this kingdom. God, however, humbles him by making him like the beast of the field.  He didn’t do this to so that everybody would make fun of the king. He humbled Nebuchadnezzar so that the king would know that God rules and that what God does and says is right. This rings so true in my life. Many, many times God has humbled me. I might think why in the world is God doing this. I haven’t done anything that the Bible condemns as sin. Other people think what I did is fine. However, I still was doing what I wanted and not what God wanted. I was telling God to take a hike and that I was going to do what I was going to do. God humbled me so that I would know that He is the one the truly reigns and that what He says is right.
