And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; Matthew 1:5

The New Testament starts off with a list of names. This is a list of people that Jesus was descended from. This is his lineage and the most amazing thing is that some of the people on this list are sinners. The Bible says that Rachab was a harlot. Ruth was not an Israelite. She was a worshipper of false gods. However, both of these women believed God and trusted in Him. Because of this, God saved them and even used them to be in the birth line of Jesus! I must remember today that God can use anyone if they will simply trust in Him. Think about how he has saved me! Favor with God is not brought about by being a good person, but trusting in a Savior!
