God gave them up
So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust:
And they walked in their own counsels. Ps. 81:12

There is a point where God will just let us go and sin like we want. The Israelites turned away from God. The y had left Him and gone their own way. God sent judges to bring them back to Him. He sent them leaders like Moses and Joshua to guide them, but there were still times when the nation of Isreal would not listen and God would just let them go and sin. He would then bring judgement on them and draw them back to Him. The same is true in my life. If I don’t listen to God and don’t want to follow Him, God might just let me have want I want even though it will hurt me. I must stay focused on Christ so I won’t want to go my own way.
