Job 42:2 I know that thou canst do every thing,
And that no thought can be withholden from thee.
God had just given Job the breakdown. He asked Job if he could make the rain and the hail come down. He asked Job if he was there when the world was created. He asked Job if he could control the stars in heaven. The answer to all these questions is obviously no. God was basically telling Job that He is God, and He knows what He is doing. It is easy to see why Job would be complaining. Job is basically asking God what he did wrong to bring this judgement down upon him, but God is saying, “Job, you shouldn’t question Me but simply trust in Me. This is also true in my life. I may sometimes ask God, “Why did you let this happen to me?” I may question and wonder about the circumstances in my life, but I need to remember that God knows so much more than me. He is the ruler of the universe and I need to trust Him.
